The University of Oregon has over 20,000 students.  Although known best for its all star Oregon Ducks football and basketball teams, many of the university's professional schools and departments are highly ranked on national levels, including the Schools of Journalism, Music, Business, Molecular Biology, Law and College of Arts and Sciences. 

For the sports enthusiast, the U of O continually hosts PAC 10 football games and city sports events. The university's Hayward Field regularly hosts regional, national and international track and field events, and is the home to legendary track stars such as Alberto Salazar, Steve Prefontaine and Mary Decker Slaney.
